Allocations
On this page you are able to track how payments for the property are shared/divided among each member. You have the option to choose between simple or advanced allocations. Each member of the household contributes a percentage of the total expenses (from 0%-100%) and this is all recorded on the Allocations page.
Simple allocations show the split of the total expenses by percentage.
Advanced allocations allow a more precise split of costs, by fixed and variable expenses. Fixed expenses do not change depending on usage of the property, such as property taxes or insurance. Variable expenses are costs such as electricity or natural gas, which can vary depending on usage.
The Advanced allocations may be appropriate in cases, for instance, where there are very different usage patterns between the members.
Each member assumes a percentage of the total expenses, which must add up to 100%. The total share of expenses can be changed from year to year.
Click the spreadsheet to assign each member a share of the total expenses, and make sure it balances to 100.
